Damien Rice-Folk/Indie/Acoustic

Damien Rice is an Irish singer and songwriter. He is also a producer as well. His many musical talents include guitar, piano, clarinet and percussion as well. He was born in Celbridge, County Keldare, Ireland. Damien began his solo music career in 2001. Rice released his first debut album 0 in 2002 in Ireland, the UK and the US. Selling over 650,000 copies in the US. 0 climbed the charts in both the US. and the UK. His single "Cannonball" being one of the most popular. In 2006, his second album 9 was released and began to climb the charts as well. SInce 2006, Rice has done many different projects including working with Melanie Laurent, a french actress and singer. He totals 5 tracks on the album. Along with this, Damien Rice has also participated in the Freedom Campaign, The Burma Campaign UK, and the U.S. Campaign for Burma. The movements were put into place in order to free Burmese Democracy Movement leader Aung San Suu Kyi. Also, in 2010, he contributed his song "Lonely Soldier" to the Enough Project which supported woman's rights in the Congo.
